Programme Structure
— 6 Core Sessions
Module 1: Understanding the True Nature of ADHD
In Module One, we’ll begin by looking at the true nature and course of ADHD. We’ll talk about what ADHD actually is, how it develops over time, and what’s going on beneath the surface. The more you understand it, the better you’ll be able to respond to it.
Module 2: Being the Parent that you want to be for your Child with ADHD.
Module Two is about you as a parent. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about helping you become the parent you want to be. We’ll explore how you can build confidence in your parenting and respond in ways that are more effective, calmer, and more consistent.
Module 3: Helping your Child develop Life Skills for Now and The Future.
Module Three focuses on life skills. We’ll look at the day-to-day challenges your child might face, things like routines, independence, planning, and organisation, and how you can support them to build these skills, step by step. I can’t stress enough the importance of this module. It’s critical that you help them develop the life skills that they need, not only now but into adulthood, as without them, living an independent and successful life will be even more difficult that it already is.
Module 4: Supporting Your Child with their Emotions and Effectively Manage Challenging Behaviours.
In Module Four, we’ll dive into emotions and behaviour. ADHD doesn’t just affect attention, it affects how children manage their feelings, how they cope with frustration, and how they respond to limits. You’ll learn practical strategies to support your child with emotional regulation and to manage challenging behaviour in a way that works.
Module 5: Getting from A to Be and Events Planning.
Module Five is all about the everyday chaos; you know what I’m talking about. Getting up and out the door in the morning, bedtime, planning events, mealtimes, a car journey and managing those transitions that can feel like you’re climbing Mount Everest, wearing nothing more than a t-shirt, shorts and a pair of flip flops. Now, there’s a challenge! We’ll talk about how to reduce stress, how to prepare your child, and set both you and them up for success.
Module 6: Putting It All Together and The Parents INC Quiz.
And finally, in Module Six, we’ll bring everything together. You’ll take the Parents INC quiz, reflect on what you’ve learned, and start thinking about how to keep the momentum going in your family life.
